Wings - People Helping People In Need

The mission of  Wings Flights of Hope is to help people in need of free air transportation for medical and humanitarian purposes. Basically helping anyone, anytime, anyplace. At Wings we do not want transportation to stand in the way of a patient receiving the best possible treatment available. With this purpose in mind our volunteer pilots enjoy giving the gift of hope to so many passengers, and we are honored to be able to give someone a lift when they are down.

Wings Flights of Hope is part of Wings Flights of Hope Inc. a non-profit 501(c)(3). All pilots use their own aircraft and cover all their expenses associated with every flight. The pilots benefit from the rewards of giving hope to so many people who normally would not have the opportunity!

Wings Flights of Hope is extremely instrumental for transplant patients because of the short window of opportunity to receive organ transplants. Without the pilots being on call 24/7 for these special missions, patients would not be able to get to the medical facilities on time. Many patients are in rural areas without access to large airports which limits the amount of possible flights. Wings Free Flights of Hope provides flights for people with compromised immune systems where many doctors will not allow access to commercial flights.

Announcements

Dr. Kevin D'Angelo recently travelled to La Romana Dominican Republic on a humanitarian dental mission. The flight was 3800 miles return and 26 hours of flight time. Pictures are posted on Wings site under the gallery. Thanks to volunteers Joe DeMarco, Beth D'Angelo, Dr William Maher and Dawn Maher.

Greg Barnhard has completed training in Minnesota on the Cirrus SR22. He is now able to instruct as well as do flights for Wings. Congrats on a Job Well Done!

Wings Flights completed 28 missions in May. Congratulations to all our Pilots, keep up the great work!

Greg Barnhard and Jon Schmid have completed there first Wings flight Buffalo-Watertown -Pittsburgh. Congrats to both pilots! Well Done!

A special recognition goes out to Joe Howley. Joe donated his time and plane to the relief effort in Haiti.
